Cracker may be considered somewhat of a traditional rock band, yet singer/guitarist David Lowery's roots are anything but traditional. At the time when Cracker came together in the early 90’s, Lowery was well-known as the front man for the '80s alternative outfit Camper Van Beethoven. Shortly after Camper Van Beethoven called it quits in 1990, Lowery began writing material with guitarist John Hickman and bassist Davey Faragher. The chemistry between the three was apparent and they quickly enlisted the help of a variety of percussionists to record their self-titled debut. Their second studio effort, Kerosene Hat, produced the hit song “Low” which anyone within earshot of a radio is familiar with. Since then, Cracker has continued to produce quality music while exploring different genres, and the band has even been known to play redneck and biker bars under the pseudonym "Ironic Mullet.” Cracker’s current lineup includes original members Lowery and Hickman on vocals and guitar, Kenny Margolis on keys and percussion, Frank Funaro on drums, and Victor Krummenacher on bass.
